Olympics

The Olympics are on tonight! YAY! I LOVE THE OLYMPICS.

This year, it is taking place in Beijing, if I spelled it right. The stadium is designed like a “nest”. That is how my mom described it to me hehe. She also pointed out that the stadium in my Mario and Sonic at the Olympics wii game looks like the real stadium. -_-. Some people just notice the WIERDEST things.

Anyways, the events that I am most excited for are definetly Volleyball and Beach Volleyball. I love volleyball, I play it ALOT, going to try out for my high school team, watch it on tv, blahblahfreakingblah. I’m really excited to see the US play! I hope they take the gold!

I also like Diving, I find it really cool. Especially Synchronized Diving. The way it looks is so awesome! Gymnastics is also awesome. I used to be a gymnast, so I love watching all of the events.  Floor, Beam, Bars, Vault . . . love it all! I try to watch as much Olympics as I can when it is on TV!

I really like the Opening Ceremony though, with all the countries walking in. Some countries have over 100 athletes representing there country. . . and some only have one.  I would be very proud to be the only person out of an entire nation going to the Olypics. I would be proud just to even GO to the Olympics.

In those commercials for the Olympics that I have been seeing on TV for months, one for a credit card talks about how it brings the world together. It really does. For a couple of weeks, we forget about the fighting and problems going on and compete and unite as a world for this event.

I think that is pretty sweet, that one game can unite a world, even for a short while.

Uniforms

So I got my high school uniform today. It was delivered to my house.

I need to wear a uniform to the new school I’m going to obviously.  So when I saw it, I remembered how much I hated wearing a uniform in elementary school. I thought that they were ugly, that they gave you no self expression in your outfits, and everyone looked exactly the same. I couldn’t wait to get to junior high school so that I wouldn’t be cursed to wear a uniform. From there, I would continue to a high school with no uniforms, and things would be great.

When I got to junior high though, I found out more things then self expression came with not having to wear a uniform. Competition. Jelousy.Stress over picking outfits. The WHOLE thing. People’s social status I realized could actually change because of what clothes they wore. I noticed girls who wore “nicer” brands were more popular.  I remember there were girls in the sixth grade who wore the EXACT same outfit as the other girl every day.  To show who there friends were. I thought that only happened in movies, but I was wrong. As the years went by, I started to want my uniform again.

Don’t get me wrong, not having a uniform wasn’t a terrible experience. I used to pick out my outfits with poor judgement. From not having uniforms, I have gained a sense of style in clothing, and I would say I am pretty stylish. I have learned how to present myself better.

With uniforms, though, it is SO much simpler, I realized. Sure, you don’t have much individuality with your clothing, but at least there isn’t competition, you can’t get jelous over anyone’s outfits, and you don’t have to stress about what outfit your going to wear, if people will like your outfit, etc. AND wearing a uniform gives me much more time to work on my hair :D hehe just kidding.

And these uniforms are pretty freaking adorable.

I think I will like spending my four years in high school in a uniform.

:D

Hot Topic

fangs up!

I  was at the mall today, and I went into Hot Topic. Amazing, no? Haha I shop there a LOT. I have checkered jans, checkered bandada, tshirts, etc. I buy from there REGUARLY.

I got a really nice Cobra Starship t-shirt. I can’t wait for the Fangs Up! Tour. I’m so there :D

 fangs up!

As I was in there, tho, I remember how I actually used to be afraid of Hot Topic. Yeah thats right. When I was younger, I was afraid to go in there because of the name (i mean, it was HOT TOPIC, you had to be nuts to go in there), what they sold, and the look of the cage around the doorway. But mostly the employees. Thinking about it now cracks me up.

As of the matter of the name, well, it doesn’t matter. I mean, it sometimes freaks parents out when I say, oh I got this at Hot Topic. There like, wow, you shop THERE? I’m just like, they sell clothes, not razors. JAYKAY.

The cage around the door, thats pretty tight =].

The clothes are amazing, so idk what I was thinking then.

The employees, only SOME still scare me. haha.

I’m not scared over hot topic anymore, . . . . but my mom and sister are.

They basically hate the music. But im like, hey, some people hate the music at Limited Too, and I dont see anyone complaining. So they should shut up =].  Like my mom the whole time was like ITS WAY TO LOUD, THIS ISNT MUSIC. My sister had her ears plugged xD.

I should really just shop in there with friends. Or alone.

That might be better.

Manhattan & Celebrities

August 3, 2008 - Leave a Response

So, my name is Jeannie. I mean your obviously stupid if you didn’t realize that.AHEM *COUGHSPUTTERGAG*JEANNIEbopper*COUGHSPUTTERGAG* So really, if you didn’t realize that one, you better hit a dictionary on your head, hoping it will somehow make you smarterer. keh?

Good.

I love Manhattan like woah. Some people love it for the skyscrapers, Statue of Liberty, and blahbllah all that good touristy stuff. Other people don’t like seeing homeless people come up to you, pigeons galore, and traffic. They complain its dirty or to noisy. I LOVE MANHATTAN. I take comfort in seeing the pigeons and trash on the ground. I love seeing apartments. I adore the noise, it makes me feel that im not alone. And sure, all the glamorous stuff is nice too. You would think i was in like Disney or something if you saw me in Central Park or Times Square. I live on Broadway shows.

Manhattan to me is like all the things you could possibly have in the world, all bundled up into one big city.

Speaking of Manhattan, and Broadway, did anyone watch Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods on MTV? Because I sure did :D . And I am SO happy that Bailey won. I was rooting for her all season. And honey, Autumn don’t look good as a blonde =3. Autumn gets to be Baileys understudy, and hey! Two other previously eliminated girls got rolls in the off broadway production. Rhiannon is Margot, and Lauren is Elle’s understudy. Cool, Huh?

K with this whole blog thing, I thought it would be hard to do, like it would be boring, but I’ve always LOVED writting, and I can’t even stop writing right now. Diahharea of the keyboard. Dangflabbit

I really want to be famous. Like badly. But I look at what all of these stars do with there fame. They LIVE under cameras and paparazzi. They can become drug abusers, alcoholics, shave there heads. But lets be honest. Anyone can. And Miley Cyrus: I don’t like her, but one little mistake she makes, and everyone’s like OOHHHH MILEYS A BAD BAD GIRLL!!!. Forreal. A lot of ppl put WORSE pics up on myspace, and you know what? With that whole photo shoot thing for vanity fair, it is NOT bad at all. An aspiring model myself, if thats what the photographer desired in the shoot, I think I would have done it. It’s like one bad decision makes you a horrible person in the eyes of the paparazzi

And somehow, I LONG to live under the media’s eye. I love attention, and if the paparazzi would smash me for anything, I’d tell it how it is, and not shove some fake apology into there faces. I am a very individual person, unique. I look at what the benefits of being a celeb can do. I mean alot of celebs take there money and supports foundations, charities, etc. Some adopt and give homes to kids that couldn’t find one. Stars I have come to find, ESPECIALLY teenage stars like Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus, are all just NORMAL PEOPLE.

This may sound totally wierd, but how im going to wrap up my rant on stars goes a little like this.

In those pictures Miley posted of herself, she really showed us who she really is. She isn’t a perfect girl. Under all that makeup, she’s a normal teen, who takes pictures with friends, does goofy things at sleepovers, hangs out at the beach and pool with friends, and occasionally takes some slutty pictures of herself for fun (Come on, who DOESNT). She shouldn’t have to apologize for acting like a normal teenager.

Those pictures to me, show me that teen starlets are just normal teens under everything else, and that is a breath of relief for me.

Hello world!
